Clatsop County Public Safety

Can anyone shed some light on how the public safety channels are utilized in Clatsop. They are the one county I have never truly understood (or listened to much).

Just looking for which channels are actually used and who uses what. Along with that, I am wondering:

-Is all of CCSO ran off of the 155.790 (Law Dispatch Channel)?
-Are there still two fire tap out channels? (153.740 listed as "dispatch" in addition to South County Fire Dispatch 154.385)
-What channel is Seaside Fire dispatched on (where is the "north" vs/ "south" divided line if there are still two tap out channels)
-What about departments out Hwy 26 (Elsie-Vinemaple/Hamlet), what channel do they use?
-What is this "East Astoria Area Dispatch" channel (listed as Sky Tac)..... what is this used for and who uses it?

Is that pulled from a public safety radio? CCSO having same freq with different inputs makes sense.
Now I’m wondering if they really only run two repeaters (this would be shocking) or if it’s a “north” and “south” simulcast system with the same output.

I wouldn't say CCSO is running 2 repeaters. They are simulcast, so all there sites are tied to each other. I'm not sure, but it would make sense they have north and south simulcast.

I feel like that was what I typed… was looking for someone who is more familiar with their system to verify that.

looking at there frequency list, i don't think its simulcast. They might be using a voted system. the strong signal will be heard on the closest radio site. I listen to them on line, there system doesn't sound like a simulcast system.

If you live in Hamlet, Arch Cape, Cannon Beach, Seaside, Gearhart and the south end of Warrenton, we will answer your phone call. We dispatch calls for police and fire, though your medical calls are transferred to Medix Ambulance Service.

Seaside 9-1-1 serves all of south Clatsop County and east up Highway 26 to Saddle Mountain. We dispatch calls for police and fire, though your medical calls are transferred to Medix Ambulance Service.

I knew the differences in the PSAP’s. Was mainly curious about how all the channels are divided up and who uses which channel (users)

SO and Fire each have upwards of 5 repeaters, Megler, 101 and Cathlamet are the ones I remember off the top of my head. They are all the same output frequency and PL with the same input, different PL. All you really need is the one output that is accurate in the database.

Fire Green is used by Seaside and Cannon Beach and is usually where they are toned out

As far as a listener everything is accurate in the database.

Still looking for some clarifications on what all the channels mean and which agencies work on which channels…
For example:
Is there really 3 different “fire dispatch channels” (north, south, and sky tac??)

Also, which channels to the agencies along Hwy 26 work off of? Would be nice if this was more clear on the database page or at least some additional clarification/channel reference in the wiki page.

Best way to find out, is take trip there if you can, not sure anyone can answer what you asking. Last time I asked for little bet of info about Clatsop county there wasn't a lot feed back.

There are plenty of people who know the answer to this (scanner gurus, public safety employees, etc.). Just needing the right person to stumble upon this thread. I drive thru Clatsop county all the time and grew up 10 mins from the county line, but I don’t remember which agencies worked off of which channels.

“Taking a trip” to the more rural areas just to get this answer isn't really a practical response.. especially when some of these agencies/geographic areas may not see a single call for service within any given day.

Skytac seems to be assigned to medical/accidents in North County, it's not a dispatch channel rather an operations channel. I beleive all fire agencies along Highway 26 would be assigned to use South Dispatch, Seaside, Green, (154.385) or whatever else it's called these days. That would also cover Cannon Beach, Arch Cape, Seaside, maybe Gearhart? North Dispatch or Orange (153.740 would cover Astoria and the Highway 30 communities heading east towards Columbia County. Then you have a few other single site repeaters that seem to be used for operational use like Purple, Blue and Skytac which I think are all used North County. South County uses more of the simplex channels for operations. I was down in Seaside a few weeks back and that's what I heard at least.

CCSO switched to Simulcast around two years ago. LE for the rest of the county is split up into North (Astoria, Warrenton) and South (Gearhart, Seaside, Canon Beach) frequencies.
