Does anyone know of a good scanner for Clay and possibly Putnam counties? I am looking for something that not only works well but is very easy to use. I suppose I should also ask if there is really anything worth listening to in these areas. I have a Radio Shack Pro 2067 that I have never been able to get anything on. Any advice?

Welcome to the forum,

We lived in OP during the sixties prior to I-295.

I don't think Clay's LTR Multinet can be scanned by a scanner except in FM (and poorly). I have tried on several occasions to scan that system on a 92 and a 2067. The last time I tried using a BC785D but with even less success.

The RadioShack PRO-95 and Uniden BC245XLT work great. On the fire department over here and don't have any trouble being able to hear anything. On the trunked 800 system you will not only hear the fire departments in the county but you will also hear the police departments county sheriffs and other agencies. I reccommend a 9 inch multiband antenna that you can get at RadioShack.

http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=369 (this is for putnam county fire police and sheriffs)

http://radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=325 for clay county fire and police

On these pages you can find also the ten codes and signals list with also the station numbers and lists.
