Hello all. I was wondering if some dust would effect the reception on my Pro-96 if it got into the antenna connection. And what I should use to help clean it out. Any advice would be greatful. TIA

Try a can of compressed air. Maybe a small air compressor if you have one. That's what I use for my computer keyboard.

I have always used a "Q tip" and some alchohol to clean my BNC connectors.
This really shows up on portable radios. Over time the connector on the radio
and the antenna will become black with the constant movement. This is a
conductive film and will effect the atenna performance especially when transmitting.

Just put some alcohol on the "Q tip" and use it to remove the black coating
on both the radio and antenna connections. It should looky fairly shiny when
you get through.
