Driver Captured
The driver fled on foot and dogs were brought in to look for him, according to the State Patrol.
Authorities say the driver ran up an embankment and into the high country, leaving footprints which they tracked.
The suspected driver was captured just before 6 p.m. and is in custody of immigration officials, according to State Patrol.
Troopers say the crash fits the pattern of human smuggling, but that has not been confirmed.
Authorities say immigration officials are also investigating the crash.
Troopers say 10 people - nine adults and one minor - were transported to St. Anthony's hospital in Denver for treatment. Nine of the injured passengers are male and one is female.
The extent of the injuries to the other passengers ranged from minor to critical, but it does not appear any of the injuries are life-threatening.
