In a post that I'm SURE won't be closed, moved to another forum, moderated or beamed to another planet because it is COMPLETELY scanning-related...

Anyone notice some real good conditions these last few days? Not tropo kind of openings for skip, but just good clear reception, in my case, across Central Ontario? Getting plenty of activity on the mobile in the Lindsay area, including Gravenhurst FD (unusual) and even 154.475, which I'm trying to figure out what it even is.

Just wondering what others are thinking.

Cheers,

ES

edwardscott basic understanding on picking up radio signal and how it works see below.

1..Trees and buildings affect radio waves as well as the weather.

2...The sun can also affect radio waves; it can help the radio operator or cause problems

Other thing is even if the sun was gone the radio wave would still work but there be no life here..
