I like to keep (3) of my scanners, mirror images of each other. (SDS200, SDS100, BCD536).
then with Sentinel, I would set up one scanner with my Favorites List, Service Types,Quick Key Status, and Display.
Then, using Sentinel I would copy the results to the other (2) scanners. this worked great, until recently.
Sometimes I would get "CLEAR USER DATA", usually on the SDS200 scanner.
I reformatted the SD-cards, on each of the scanners, but unfortunatly that did not provide a fix.

Does anyone, have any idea, what the cause might be.
Thank You for your time.

"Clear User Data" is used on a blank card (whether new, or newly formatted). All that does is create the folder structure on the card that the scanner uses. It does not reload all the data.

Use 'Clear User Data' as a first step, Then, after setting your profile to specify which lists to download, and which to monitor by default, download from Sentinel to the scanner.

You can set a specific profile for each scanner, then set it to download whichever of your Favorites lists that you wish to be available, setting the ones you wish to monitor by default, and leave the others only at 'download'.

Set the correct target model, then do your list selection for that scanner. Save the Profile changes in a new profile named after that scanner.

Next, change the target model to the next scanner, then set the lists you you wish to monitor with that scanner as both download & monitor, leaving the other lists you want available, but not monitor by default set as only download. Then, save the modified profile under a name for that specific scanner.

Finally, reset your download/monitor choices for the third scanner, based on what you want it monitoring by default, leaving the balance of the lists set as 'download only'.

For the two SDS series scanners, be sure that your display parameters for a specific model, are set and saved in it's corresponding profile.

To change to one of your saved profiles, just select the "open folder" icon on the second line in Sentinel, and you can choose whichever profile you want to deal with. That changes the target model to the one you want to modify, as well as your selections for download & monitor for that profile.

i was using the same list for all three scanners.
any corrections, were saved to original saved file, no matter which model I was using, at the time
I should have known better, to isolate the file by each model.

question about "display parameters for specific model": can't I use same parameters on both (SDS) scanners

by the way, thank you for your reply. appreciate your input.

I think what he might be meaning is to go to Tools and change the target model for each of the three different scanners. You may also want to edit the Profile so you can change the Opening Screen message, owing to how fine a point you want to sharpen.

If it was me, the very first step I would take is to re-format the SD card using the recommended SD Formatter utility. That way you are working with a very clean slate to do the Clear User Data then write the Profile. (Probably wouldn't hurt to update the Sentinel master database since you are going to all the trouble.)

Yep, that's what I meant. You'll end up with three separate profiles, one for each scanner.

You could use the same 'basics' (such as brightness). But the displays of the SDS scanners have multiple fields, and the two models (SDS100 & SDS200) may not have the exact same pattern. For example, for my SDS100, I have battery voltage in one field, with USB2 bus voltage as well (for verifying that power is being supplied from an external power source). Obviously, battery voltage is not valid on the SDS200.

Good Talk Guys. appreciate your time.
Found out it doesn't pay to cut corners. I knew better, but got in a hurry.
now I have separate files for each scanner, have not had any problems at all.

They use the same format but the SDS scanners have some extra fields for filters and such that are blank in the 536 program file. Try and set up the config as SDS200 and program it as you like and copy to scanner. Then do export to hpe file and import the hpe file in SDS100 target mode and copy to scanner and then import the hpe in BCD536 target mode and copy to scanner. That could eventually work for you to not have to program three individual files. You can export and import display settings for SDS200 and SDS100 to keep them configured individually as you like.
