Well how do you do it

From memory (I don't have my PSR-500 handy at the moment)...

Turn the scanner off
Turn the scanner on
While the welcome message is being displayed, press the 0 (Zero) button
Then press the 1 button
Then ENT to confirm that you want to reset the configuration to factory defaults.

why return a great scanner?? Take your time with this unit as it takes about 2-4 weeks to get totally used to all its features. Are you using psr edit software or arc500?? Are you trying to enter all manually?? The software is the quickest. You get a 30 day free trial so take your time!!! ALSO, read the manual on line as it will answer alot of questions!!!!

Just make sure you are going to be around when you start the time trials on the software. They go by days and not number of uses. I made the mistake of usitng arc500 and psredit for a week and then I had vacation - when got back I was so overloaded with work I didn't have time. Now the two trials are useless and I am still undecided.

PSRedit or Win500 are the best choices. I have tried them all and use PSRedit. Originally I was using Arc500 but it had too many bugs in it. Maybe they've been fixed by now but that was a turn off to me and even though I registered it back then, I don't use it ever. Of course this is my opinion, yours may be different.

I have to agree that PSRedit and Win500 are the best choices and of those two I prefer Win500.
