Has anyone else had intermittent interference on UHF CLEER?

I have a PRO-96 on 24/7 for monitoring MAC talkgroups, etc. and lately some noise is opening the squelch a lot on the CLEER channel. I don't have a PL programmed on it because I think its just CSQ. Some agencies seem to use PL's but most don't.

It sounds like white noise or something, but usually if an agency transmits it still come thru over the noise OK.

I monitor CLEER in the Denver area on an outside antenna and have not had any interference.

It must be something close to me then; I will try to track it down with other radios. It seems like whatever it is affects 460.4250 and not other freqs close to that--

Thayne, where are you located? I'm in the Northwest corner of Longmont, and I also have interference with CLEER. In fact, I have to keep it locked out in order to scan my Boulder County and Longmont freqs.

I've also noticed alot of spurs and noises that have popped up lately across the 2 meter ham band and the VHF high band in general. I've got a really strong one right on top of the Longmont repeater, 147.270 (though I'm not missing much). Makes me wonder if there's a secret BPL project going on in Longmont?

Located in southeast Denver, but I too have noticed more interference on some other UHF frequencies, one in particular that is bad around Boulder and Ward. We traced that to some kind of surveying equipment.

The cleer interference seems to be mostly at night, but it opens the squelch even when set tight.
I was thinking of just using Lakewoods or arvadas trunked system for CLEER because they both have a talkgroup assigned to CLEER. I like to have it on 24/7 because it is like having a "Canary in a mine", if you get my drift :)

I seem to notice that the Arvada/Westminster system has a talkgroup that is constantly linked to CLEER. If you are still having problems, try using the patch on the system.

I also got an extra computer from a friend that I am in the process of setting up as a dedicated server for my bc780xlt. I should have it up and running by the end of the weekend. Check the fourms for the link.

I never could find where the interference was coming from, although I did determine it was not just on the CLEER Freq alone. It usually started around 6PM and happened randomly all night.

My wife kept turning it off when I wasn't home, so I just locked it out and will try using a CLEER patch to Lakewoods trunked system for listening to CLEER :( Oh Well. . .

I've run into the same issue. UHF CLEER is never as good as those patched. These days I just use the Arvada/Westy patch for CLEER. Seems to work much better.
