Isn't that what is used on aircraft frequencies??

Wasn't sure, so I posted it hoping to get some responses.

Back in the late sixties, there were three type's of CB radio transmissions. AM, Double Sideband and Single Sideband. The Double Sideband radio's didn't last long.

I take it to mean double sideband as opposed to single sideband in the case of aviation which would not be suppressed carrier. So in other words just normal (narrowband) AM..

I was an avionics tech back in the late '50s. Things have changed a bit.

I suspect that you are correct. I checked the scanner I use to monitor the Cleveland Air Show.

Air Show Control 126.4000

Air Show 1: 127.950
Air Show 2: 128.475

Both freq's have been used in the past. My scanner shows hits on both 127.950 and 128.475. Since I didn't lock them out, I'll assume that I must have monitored traffic on both (hence the Air Show 1 & Air Show 2 designations). If they had been Sideband gibberish, I would have locked them out.
