For those of you going to the Cleveland airshow, I just noticed the flying schedule will not be posted until 9/3. They say it's due to "unforeseen circumstances". Kind strange, since it has always been posted at least a week in advance in other years. Also, Gate 9 which always provided entry from the Muni Lot is closed. There now will be only one drive-in gate and one walk-in gate. Tickets are online only also.

Hope those of you in Cleveland will post updated frequencies in the days before the show.

“Unforeseen circumstances” are due to the GEICO Skytypers dropping out. Lost a pilot in a crash last week.

Did the Thunderbirds practice today? Any updates on frequencies for them or other acts? Air boss frequency?

Looks like no one is in the area of the show so far. In other years this forum had lots of frequency info during this time.

Went today. Show was OK but not much there. Well-organized as usual. Parking could be better. Air boss was on 124.3.

Still a beautiful day at the air show, but overall a pretty down year. Maybe the Air Show community/military demo teams are still rebuilding after/during COVID. So maybe it will be better next year.

I’ve been going to the Cleveland Air Show for around 45 years. My wife and I went to the air show on our first date 40 years ago today, so we went today to celebrate.

I remember SR71, B52 flybys. I remember RAF Vulcan, and Nimrod demos. Lots of Canadian CF18 demos. For years the Toronto air show was the same weekend-so often military planes would just fly down Lake Erie and do both shows the same day. Something exciting happening all day long.

There was a lot of down time today. I give the propeller guys credit for doing their best. Most of them flew 3 times just to keep the show going.

The scanner does make for a better day. I would like to thank this community for cooperatively gathering/disseminating frequencies. It is so much easier programming the radio at home than fumbling around searching at the air show. The scanner came in handy understanding the problems the pyro guys were having today. Then when Thunderbird 6 unfortunately had to RTB right before they started, the scanner paid off again. The folks around us on the shore way overpass didn’t know what was happening. It was helpful to hear it all in real time on the scanner.
