If you dont already, then you better make sure you buckle up; at least in Tippecanoe County.

They (LPD) have been running pull over operations all day long. They are working in teams; one officer watches for those unbuckled and makes calls to other officers to make the stop.

I also have heard ISP reporting numerous tickets for seat belt violations today.

The Michigan State Police are making a huge amount of traffice stops, just north of the Indiana Stateline, They have at least 6 extras cars working the area north of South Bend!

This is the time of year that all of the departments are going after Traffic Violaters, look for seatbelt check points coming soon... along with OPO.

A neat fact the Indiana State Police ask troopers to pull over atleast 3 seatbelt violators an hour for Click or Tick.

Most likely a runup to Memorial day

I would assume that they are starting early for one of the worse holiday periods for traffic accidents. Yours truly lost his only daughter this holiday 1996 to a wreck while she was on her honeymoon, I say light them up and write them up. If they can spare one family the pain its a great law and a great program.

West Virginia is very heavy into "Click-It-or-Ticket" The WVSP, local sheriffs, and police dapartments are really serious about this. The number of violations (DWI, DUI, expired driver licenses, wants and warrants checks) seem to be up. It helps everyone is some way when these violators are stopped. I believe the public would be surprised at how many child-seats are found to be improperly installed in the vehicles that officers stop.
"Click-It-or-Ticket" works for me !
