I worked for Clinton over 20 years ago and I know since then they have not had anything to do with DAS

Thanks. I know many years ago DAS operated ambulance services in Clinton, Pana, and Cerre Gordo as I recall. However that was indeed many years ago.

This was way back when. A guy by the name of Bob Burcham owned and operated DAS. They operated on low band at 33.02 Mhz. They had a very distinctive soft tone that was transmitted for a second or so when any mike was keyed. Don't ask me what the purpose of it was, but it made their radio traffic very distinctive.

Burcham kept a radio and DAS telephone extention by his bedside. If you called DAS in the middle of the night, the phone would ring at his bedside in addition to their station. He would usually pick up the phone to hear the conversation, and then he would often get on the radio to give instructions or to supervise. You could always tell by his voice that he had been asleep. The radio call for his house was "Post-41" or simply "41".

It was a very unique operation.

Kyle -

What cubn said is right, 155.355, unless they have changed it. Sometimes I can get it up here in B/N when I had an antenna on my truck. When I lived with dad, I could get it very strong. The rigs I couldn't hear, but, dispatch I could with the factory antenna on the scanner. They aren't too horrible active. Just a little quieter than LCPA. When CenComm pages them, they will page which ever FD first, then after that page, they will do CAS.

Also, sorry I haven't made it to town recently.

Later!
