Interesting topic. My town (Newington) is getting ready to move to CLMRN and I am the one who broadcasts the Newington Police Fire and EMS feed to Broadcastify.

I currently use a HP-1 but that that does not support the P25 PII, so now I am looking for a scanner to use.

I am looking for one where it has a line out (or record out) but also still lets me listen over the speaker.

The only thing it will be used for is scanning Newington so I can provide the feed here. What scanner should I be looking for?

Thanks!

SDS200 would be the best receiver but does not have a line out. You could use a "Y" and an external speaker with a volume control but it is a compromise.
I would imagine FD will keep their VHF and EMS should keep their link for AMR to use but the PD will likely only be on CLMRN

If your just doing Newington on the CLMRN you could use a Unication G4 and amplified charger, it gives you all the outs you need

Scott, what departments are moving and are they phasing out the LTR system?

if I went half mile down the road in either direction the 325 came to life on H site ... so it was a relatively small location where the radio had an issue.

I have had similar experiences with various scanners on CLMRN. Very frustrating, especially from home.

Police and Fire are moving.

They are just starting to obtain equipment, but no dates yet on switching over.

I have been told by Chief Clark that there are no plans to scramble routine calls, however supervisor to supervisor will be scrambled. I hope this is still the case.

I have been bringing the community this feed since 2009, and hope to continue to do so when they move over.
