Tuesday 4/25/23. I see the CLMRN database has been updated to now show "dispatch1 and dispatch 2 for every troop. Any idea what the additional dispatch talkgroup is specifically used to dispatch? I did not know they were so busy that a second dispatch talk group was needed.

Manny

Dispatch 2 is simply a renaming of the previous Car -to- Car / TAC talkgroups. The TGs remain the same, their use remains the same. Only the name has changed.

I think that reflects the correct name for them. If I recall, the Car to Car designation was back in the Motorola Type II days.

I went and renamed all the troops in my 996P2 with Dispatch as 1 and Car to Car as 2 and then realized after, the troopers were still referring to the old channel line-up scheme, so I put them back in.

The channel numbers have not changed. Just the name.

It was updated to reflect the actual names of the talkgroups, that's what they've been the whole time.

Does anyone have any info on the CT army guard operating on CLMRN I think I’m currently hearing them doing radio checks with the “UCC” on TG 40155. I believe it’s ARNG due to the radio IDs being in the 800xxxx series. What do they use the state system for and do they use it a lot? Also are there anymore TGs that are confirmed for ARNG?

I've heard traffic on groups starting at 400102 through 400160.

I've never heard anything specific or meaningful. I locked them out today because it was annoying.

On another topic, the lost hiker has been located and CSP (Troop L) is on their way to pick her up. She has had no food or water for at least 3 days. Watch the news.

I heard them a lot when COVID first came about. They were setting up the tents outside of Hospitals, ect.. Very active. A few months later they were encr. for some reason.

Figured I was almost hesitant to post anything for fear they would suddenly remember and hit the E button again. Wasn’t sure if they used it for convoy operations as well I have heard them in the past referring to troop commanders vehicles and such. Today it was just radio checks but all the radio IDs were in the 800s which is what clued me into maybe being CTARNG and this was on the troop E site but not sure if the TG is active on all sites at all times like some TGs are.

Tolland radio IDs (142***) testing in East Windsor today on 8511. Maybe TN is finally switching them over from the old LTR system, or coverage testing for mutual aid?

East Windsor put out a RFP for radio consulting services in 2022 IIRC, to be handled by the Police dept. I looked thru a few of the recent Police Commission minutes but haven't seen anything mentioned in recent months.

As of now, I would guess mutual aid or testing as the way I read the RFP it souned like the town was leaning towards their own trunk system, either stand alone or CLMRN. They way they run calls now they almost always run on the LTR TGs so I would suspect if they join they wil use tax-id bases TGs.

Update: I found minutes from the police and Fire depts.

Warehouse Point got some CLMRN radios for testing it sounds like, EWPD is looking at a Marcus P25 conventional channel as of now. Who knows what will happen. In a normal/sane world, they would use the same system like now, but that may not be the case.
