So they are CLMRN talkgroups, one patched with dispatch, the other patched with command. This is different from the LCD talkgroup that is already on the system, these two are new ones, so keep your eyes out for them i guess.

Nothing new so far but I would expect it to happen. I know Torrington FD is looking to move over. Harwinton and Torrington were testing quite a bit over the past year. I would think Torrington PD & Winchester PD would be looking as well.

yeah i know Torrington and Harwinton Westside went in on a grant together. I spoke to one of my contacts who told me that these are CLMRN talkgroups that are patched with the conventional LCD channels, so every transmission should be going over, im surprised you arent hearing anything

Site 38 that was in the Meriden area is now isolated and doesn't appear to be broadcasting anymore.

Also.. NEW SITE.
Site 35
Channel 0-453: 853.8375 CC
Peers are at least A Simulcast and L Simulcast, maybe more.

Idea is this in the Watertown area.
The new CTTransit facility, Frost Bridge Rd adjacent to Rt 8 by Exit 37
License for that areas was just issued a few weeks ago too.

My bet is it will be a weaker repeater like the Naugatuck one that's for MTA mostly, 30watts or less. I can't see it in Woodbury at the moment but if it was only 30 watts im not surprised.

Licensed for 100 watts per the link you provided.

I’m interested in NAS on the system but I’m not farmiliar enough to risk it so right now I’m scanning all frequencies on conventional channels its a XTS 5000 Model 3 700/800
You won't hear much on CLMRN with a phase 1 radio, programmed as conventional or trunked. You'd be better off buying a Unication radio.

Sat in waterbury all night trunking the L & B systems and listening to LCD on the VHF side. Nothing came over the trunk system at all for LCD when they were talking on dispatch or command.
The TG might be in the system but not used yet, I was told by a fire chief that the Fire academy has TG on the system but nothing there yet

That may be the case. I was told that they do have it patched on the console, so maybe it is finding its way into the system and just not going out anywhere yet. Itll be interesting when it does, because anybody that talks on the VHF will go out over the 800 no matter where they are in the county

Heard a mobile unit and dispatch testing late Friday night into early Saturday morning on TG 11101 on the L system (Bloomfield on H, I know). The mobile unit mentioned he was located under the Route 8 under pass and had to come out for better reception.

Makes sense, I guess I stumbled on something assuming they were testing on Route 6 over the boarder into Thomaston. Still a little deceiving with Bloomfield, wouldn't you think they would have one less "1" in their to talk groups?

Doctordialtone, just saw your post on how the TG's are created after I had posted my message...

that would be awesome since they never put repeaters in for mobile. i could hear the rest of the call over on this side of the mountain.

Morning All!

I recently picked up a Homepatrol 2 more for the small form factor than for the options (or lack thereof)I have been hearing next to nothing or very sporadic on CLMRN for Troop G and even troop I which I am close to both, closer to G living in Milford but still should be able to get decent signals from either.

I have an SDS100 which I have been fiddling with and learning a bit about as well...question is this more for the Homepatrol2 I would like to keep mounted as my mobile;

Being an older unit does it need the band-plan entered for proper reception or is it like all the others mentioned here previously where it should mot because it is broadcast on the CC?

Additionally since it only has the choice of an A/B filter of P25 and then the Auto/5-12 settings does anyone have any advice on which setting have worked best for them?

As the crow flies I am less than 10 miles from Troop G and their tower and not pretty close to sea level as they are if that helps with anyadice regarding signal carry.

Thanks in advance

I have both radios as well. Yes CC only is fine. no band plan is needed. I fiddled around a little with the settings mine worked best 7-8 but that was for Troop H and I get a good signal. I never figured out what A/B meant. I looked all over and googled it and didnt find any info. Home Patrol 2 works on Phase II but I dont think it catches it all. SDS 100 does much better job on simulcasts as we all have discussed before. Maybe a better antenna would help?
