I found a USB version of the CT17/OPC478 on EBAY that I am really happy with. There are several available and apparently use a Prolific chip set in the converter. If you get the OPC478 style (Cloning Cable) and get a 1/8 mini stereo to mono adaptor (Radio Shack number 274-0374 or 274-0368) you can use the same cable as an CT17 to control ICOM radios by plugging cable into the adaptor and then connectioing the radio.
