Cloning ht1250 to another radio

Is there anyway to clone a programmed ht1250 radio onto another radio (Baofeng UV-5R V2+) or does it need to be the same model?

I have no software or programming cables. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

your looking to take the code plug from a HT1250 and clone that to the Baofeng UV-5R? NOPE NOT a good idea must me another HT1250 same model number

Ok, so there is no way to "extract" the progammed frequencies on channels 1-16 from an ht1250, then program that onto a different radio?

With the correct Motorola software, you could read the radio and copy the info from that to the baofeng.

I don't think so. Been working with Motorola radios and software for many years. It won't let you clone the radios unless you have the exact same model. You can have 2 copies of the software running to be able to copy a channel or personality from one radio to the other if they are not the exactly the same model, but the same basic radio. But not all the different radio model software will allow this to happen.

Your not going to be able to do this with a different radio vendor and the Motorola software. Can't understand where your coming from when you say this can be done. You need to explain your comment.

You will have to 'read' the HT1250 with the correct Motorola software. Write down on paper the frequencies and PL Codes. And the golden rule is to Save the information, AKA codeplug, file from your HT1250 radio in a safe place.

Then read your " other radio" with it's proper software, and then enter all the frequencies and 'tone' information. Then load that into your 'other radio'.

That's what I was thinking. Write it down on a sticky note, then type it in your baofeng..

If you really (and I mean REALLY) don't want to use the pencil and paper approach there is a way. But, it isn't pretty or easy.

First, read the HT1250 into the CPS software (which means you will have to acquire a copy) and then save a Print Summary. Next, using whatever programming language you are familiar with, write a program to read in the Print Summary, parse it and then save out the information you will need into a CHIRP comma delimited file (csv). Now, using CHIRP, import the csv file and then program your radio.

BTW, you can also just open the CPS in one window and CHIRP in another and then you don't have to find the pencil.

Ok, so I tried to program the Baofeng, but it doesn't seem to come out right.

Here is what is on the HT1250.

Here is what is programmed onto the Baofeng UV-5R V2+

I admit, I don't know what most of the options mean (tone mode, cross mode, etc...) Can anyone point me in the right direction? I would appreciate it.
