used both close call auto store and also the close call while scanning and ive
noticed that it never shows up the ctcss codes or anything it just shows the
frequency does anyone know how to show both the frequency and the codes that it
finds also ? i remember the 396 t did it all the time thanks Danny...

Close Call on the 396XT

Danny...

Reading both your posts here, Tone search will not work in Close Call Auto Store mode. I have not been able to get it to work anyway... Tone search does work with Close Call Scan mode.

You have to have the Tone/Code Search turned on in the Menu for it to work. I noticed in your other post, you stated you had both the CTCSS/DCS Search and he P25 NAC Search turned on. You can only have one of the options selected at a time... not both. I just verified this.

In the Menu, go to Srch/CloCall Opt, then Tone/Code Search, then scroll down to CTCSS/DCS Search or P25 NAC Search, whichever you are trying to use, and hit the Enter "E" key. This will now allow you to decode either the CTCSS/DCS or NAC along with the frequency in close call mode.

Again, keep in mind you can only decode the CTCSS/DCS or NAC when using close call alone or close call w/SCAN... it will not work when using close call w/AutoStore mode.

Hope this helps you!

Thanks kc4wwu that helped out i kinda thought after looking at it again last night that you could only keep one on at a time i just wasnt sure i didnt know it was either one or the other but it is so ill do it that way i had the 396 t before and i guess they do it this way because the 396 t didnt have the nac decoding in it but thanks for the help here Danny...

I'll add that my XT just had a Close Call Do Not Disturb hit, it flashed, beep alerted, I pressed the scroll control, it displayed the frequency, the CTCSS tone was flashing, and I pressed "E" to enter it into the Close Call Hits.
