The power at my house was out so I went to use start up key 1 on the SDS100.
When it powered up it was in close call test mode showing the search frequency as it searched.
What is even more interesting it was searching in the 600MHz range. That is not a typo, 600MHz range.

I turned it off and when I powered it back up it was in normal close call only mode, should have been scanning start up 1 favorite lists.
Now I can't duplicate it.

Anyone seen this before?
I'm guessing I stumbled on a Uniden tech cheat for testing?

Too bad there wasn't any ability to change the settings or schleich on close call to pick up more than just signals that are way above the band average. That functionality would make it closer to an SDR just without the waterfall.

In other non-SDS scanners there is a special frequency counter chip, and I guess it has to be the same in SDS scanners. A frequency counter with enough sensitivity would trigger on all signals in the air. If it had a variable gain setting, probably frequency band dependent, it might had been possible to adjust to your own average RF level and get a longer range of closecall.
