I have a SDS 100 scanner and for the last month close call has been locking onto a lot of frequencies, I have the scanner hooked to my discone antenna sitting outside on my 4 floor balcony and it has been working great, This is the first time I ever picked up aircraft in the 108 MHz to 136 MHz band, every day the scanner is locking onto aircraft, Also fist time I have picked up Railroad, close call is locking onto 160.800 MHz all the time in my area. Picking up frequencies in the 150. MHz band and 450. MHz band even down in the 416. MHz band. Seems like I have great conditions for close call to work.

Closecall has to interupt the scanning to be able to check for signals. So in worst case it slows down the scanning cycle, and that's true for the prio function as well.

How well it catches frequencies depends of the general signal level of your local RF enviroment. It usually helps to attenuate strong local signals like FM broadcast. I only catch local taxi cabs on my street and the RF transmitter in the basement that transmits my energy consumption. Using a FM trapfilter will trigger closecall almost continuosly from airplanes many miles away where I can't even hear their engines.

:) Thanks for the information Ubbe, about a month ago I bought a FM filter and installed it inline and this must be the reason I am getting all the hits on CLOSE CALL. All the close call hits started after I started using the FM TRAPFILTER.

I'm getting a lot of radio stations on close call which is not something that I would want.
