Baker 2 dispatch is currently using talkgroup 9168 which is or was Property Investigators.

I don't know if this is a permanent move or temporary.

I haven't noticed that move myself, I usually monitor the N. Meck and city wide groups. I have noticed some groups moving around. I guess it's part of the re-organization of CMPD talkgroups. For instance, I can't figure out why Davidson police are on Charlie 1 instead of N. Meck 1 (like Cornelius and Huntersville). Maybe someone here can explain the details of the talkgroup changes and unit numbers.

Davidson Police are back to being dispatched by CMPD.

North Dispatch will continue dispatching Cornelius, Huntersville and Davidson College. Each now has an expanded number of talkgroups available for tac, conference and investigations.

Dispatching for those towns will remain on North Dispatch 1 and 2.

Davidson PD also has an expanded selection of talkgroups.

Alot of changes have / are / will be taking place, with regards the system talkgroups. Some are simply identifier / name changes. Others will be new talkgroups.

This would be a good time to occasionally scan the system in "search" mode, rather than "scan," to discover new talkgroups.

Also, check out the RR database for recently changes, and the webpages of one of the members on this forum at:

The new talkgroup I-Ds are in a different color.

I've been listening more to the CMPD talkgroups over the last week. Not only has dist 22 moved but the officers and dispatchers seems to be a little confused over the new talkgroup lineup.
I've heard Charlie 5 referred to as Hickory Grove Conference. Charlie 1 as CMPD North Division. It sounds like some guys have the new talkgroup names and others have the old.

Officially, the names of Adam-1 and Charlie-3 do not exist anymore. For example the old Charlie-3 is now Hickory Grove. They have some geographical reference now instead of the old A,B,C, and D. As a practical matter it is hard for people to change and that is part of the problem. In the past several weeks almost all CMPD radios have been reprogrammed with the new names. For example, where the dial use to say CHARLIE-3 it now says HK-GROVE. There are also many new talk groups. Fire, Medic, City, County, and MCSO will also be changing very soon. To add to the confusion, most of the CMPD hand helds are programmed into something like 21 systems, think of them as logical groups. Each system can have up to 16 talk groups such as HK-GROVE and EVENTS-8. On top of this each division, such as Hickory Grove, is referred to as a number also, such as Division 12.

thanks for the info. It's all confusing to me but i'm starting to figure it out. Thankfully there is a reference source like RR.com to stay up to date.
