CO DTRS Site Frequencies Question

I’m attempting to make sense of Site locations and frequencies for the Colorado DTRS system.

Looking at Site #360 (PVH Fort Collins) it seems that the frequencies don’t exactly match up with the FCC License information.

Some of the frequencies listed in the table on the main DTRS page are not listed underneath the frequencies on the FCC page. What am I missing?

Any advice is appreciated.

First off don't believe the FCC data.

Also remember the Colorado DTRS P25 system is control channel trunking so all the frequencies don't matter and actually should not even be programmed in, CC is all you need.

Site 360 PVH is 868.7375

Be sure to check recent message threads also we have recently had this same discussion of what to program in to properly monitor the Ft Collins area.

The PVH site has numerous frequencies but as mentioned before, the only one you need to program is the Control channel. For PVH that is 868.73750.

The PVH site is "connected" to four other sites:
Buckhorn Mountain # 313
Bald Mountain # 361
Horsetooth Mountain # 362
Loveland # 363

The best tower to monitor for traffic in the Ft Collins area is the Horsetooth Mountain site.
The Control channel for it is on 868.88750.
It connects to seven other sites:
Buckhorn Mt. #313
Greeley 35th # 326
Prospect Mt. # 352
Drake # 359
PVH # 360
Bald Mt. # 361
Loveland # 363

The Loveland tower uses 868.76250 for Control.
It only connects to Bald Mt, PVH and Horsetooth.

On this system, the "connections" and channels can be changed without a change of the license info that is resident on the FCC site.

You can port the Control channel of each site to a data slicer and get the current info regarding the site on screen.

Attached is a pdf of PVH, Horsetooth and Loveland (in that order) as they appeared earlier today.

No they don't I'm not sure what he's referring to as connected, what is basically being listed are the site neighbors off pro96 and that has nothing to do with being connected.

Perhaps "connected" is the wrong term to use but the sites do talk to each other.
The tower site exchanges certain information with the neighboring sites on a continuous basis. It has nothing to do with the Control channel or any of the other frequencies.

Attached is a portion of the Site info screen and the term "connected" is used in the right side column of the display. That is what I was referring to in the previous post.

Hope this clarifies where the term came from, if not at least I have confused everyone at a higher level...

Those are just the broadcasted neighbors for the site. When the radio's receive RSSI falls below a settable threshold on the control channel that it's currently on, it will "look" at the neighbors first. If it finds one above a certain threshold it uses that new site. If none of the neighbors are strong enough, it will scan all of the pre-programmed control channels in the radio. This greatly speeds up switching between sites.

It doesn't have anything to do with the sites talking to each other. All the sites in a sub-system (part of the whole system) are "connected" through a central switch (Zone Controller).
