Hello All
I live just 10 miles north of Boston and would like to start monitoring some Coast Guard activity. I've looked at the frequency database here on Radio Reference and it seems a little daunting. I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction as to what frequencies would be interesting in my area. My interests would be search and rescue for the boats/helicopters/aircraft or anything else you would think was interesting.

Thanks in advance!

Try the LMR channels listed below for Sector Boston. Might be in clear or could be encrypted. Mostly part time encryption is used.

Also try channels 16 156.800 and 22A (now 1022) 157.100

Also could try:
21A (1021) 157.050
23A (1023) 157.150
81A (1081) 157.075
83A (1083) 157.175
These rotate among Sectors to limit inference, but most USCG radio traffic will be on the P25 LMR channels. Some CG Auxiliary activity could be on them along with the Auxiliary's repeater output of 150.700.

If you have a scanner that can do mil air might try CG Aircraft on 345.000 AM. CG Air Station Cape Cod will provide the coverage in that area
