Coax Cable for Building Satcom Antenna

I am in the process of building the satcom antenna discussed in this thread: http://forums.radioreference.com/sa...8-mt-magazine-uhf-satcom-antenna-project.html

The directions call for 75 Ohm RG6 TV coax cable at lengths of 13 1/2 and 1 1/2 inches. So I picked up some cheap coax cable. Will I have issues with signal loss from the cheap coax cable or will it not matter at the short lengths?

There will not be enough loss in the phasing harness to worry about but the cable should be modern low loss foam dielectric, foil wrapped RG6 to make sure the velocity factor is the same as used in the article. The velocity factor and lengths are critical to make the antenna Right Hand Circular polarity, otherwise performance will suffer.

I used a generic Carol brand coax from Home depot for the article, which is available almost anywhere. Just follow the instructions and make sure all dimensions are exact to have repeatable results.
