Can someone tell me if RG8 is a good coax for a 800MHZ yagi. I have RG8 going to a cb antenna that Im taking down and putting a 800 yagi up. If it is ok would it be best to cut off the PL259 connectors and add what I need or use tnc to pl259 outside and PL259 to BNC inside.Thanks

I think for anything above 6 or 700 Mhz, RG-8, or 58 becomes lossy. A short run might be OK though.

For frequencies that high I dunno if the shielding is adequate or not..

RG11 or LMR400 would be MUCH better.
