The Cobb DTRS and UASI sites all still have active 860 range frequencies in use as I type this...are these systems scheduled for reband soon or have they gotten a waiver? There's some in-the-know guys on here that I wager have an idea.

I believe when Cobb went DTRS, they split their existing system in half and the DTRS was on the lower end where the analog was kept on the upper. I don't believe the control channel on the analog is still active.

It is funny you mention this because I have been wondering as well. Mike, it seemed they kept the control channels as the lower ones but most of the voice channels were in the 866-868 range.

I just noticed today that is not the case anymore as every voice channel I have seen is a rebanded one. All the control channels are the same (they didn't need to move) but now all the voice channels are in the lower 850 range. This must have happened in the past couple days. So, Cobb has rebanded now.

Thanks guys. Never noticed the voice frequency change till you mentioned it. Nice and smooth for sure.

I've been Scanning Kennesaw PD (some cobb and acworth) for over two years now. Can someone tell me what a re-banding is and why it would need to be done?

Oh, and do I need to do anything to my PRO-96 to make sure I continue to hear all traffic?

Sorry for the NOOB question!

This article explains it well.
Rebanding - The RadioReference Wiki

That is correct, because this is a Digital system no change will need to be made on your scanner.

Thanks RMiller.

Kennesaw is doing a roadblock on their channel 2 if you are interested in listening!

Also, can anyone tell me why my scanner occasionally makes a static noise when an officer keys up the radio? It's very annoying. I can hit the scan button on my radio and usually make it stop. Am I doing something wrong?

was this a standard -15mhz reband?

Forgot to mention. It seems it is at least for the freqs listed in the database, however, I have noted at least 7 others "new" freqs.

This is the list of freqs I have noted being used:
851.1625
851.7
851.8875
852.1625
852.55
853.0375
853.225
853.3
853.45
853.9625
854.3375
854.9125
855.3375
855.6375
857.3375

The two control channels listed in the database have not changed and are still the control channels. Not sure of what the deal is with 858.21250, 859.21250, 859.73750, or 860.98750 as I have not heard anything on them.

When running Pro96Comm on the system, it was giving me almost all of their licensed channels, including the 86X.XXX freqs!

That is weird. I appreciate you updating the database. I will say I have not seen any of the old freqs coming up at all though. You would probably be safe removing them. I take it the 4 freqs I was unsure of still came up?
