I've been hearing CCFD on active structure fires say they are switching to "Fire TAC" recently, IC still stays on whatever fireground, but crews are now apparently using a simplex channel for fireground comms. It is NOT any of the I-TACS, a few weeks ago there was massive reprogramming of all fire radios.
I recently monitored a fire and was in line of site, and heard nothing on any of the I-TAC or 8-TACs, but couldn't find them using Close Call on my 396.

Anyone know the frequency, Kenneth? (Sorry, REM moment)

Could it be they are just using the ITAC simplex channel? I know when in a fire, someone always has "TAC" on as well as the incident command.

I don't know what distance your "line of sight" is, but Close Call can only receive very strong signals, so you must be within a few blocks to hear portables.
Here is an 800 freq. I found doing an FCC search. 856.2375 might be worth monitoring.

I was across the street from a house fire, so it should have worked,
And Mike, they aren't using the ITAC/8-TAC or 7-TAC, and where I was I should have been able to copy even if they were using 49MHz kiddie talkies:):
