The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I saw this little itty bitty CB radio on a few video's today... I didn't even know they were making a blue tooth wireless one hander CB.
it's a Cobra 75 All Road Wireless AM/FM CB Radio
it's wireless meaning you can mount the radio box anyplace and mount the mic on the dash board.... it's even water proof so you can mount it under the hood??? under the vehicle... under the seat... I even saw some video's of people putting it in the glove compartment.
the mic has all the controls and is Bluetooth... you have to plug it into a power source like a USB port or a USB to cigarette adapter then plug it into the cigarette lighter.... so there is still a cord... but the cord only goes to the power source.
the video I saw, it even has a really nice built in SWR meter..... it's a great idea... the mic looks really BIG??? it even has a frequency counter!!! and Noise Reduction

I thought it was a very cool idea.

anyone using one? or seen one? if so .... what do you think of it? .. for $159 I can't think they will sell a lot of them... but for a small vehicle or a jeep... it might be perfect.... especially that you can just unplug the mic from the USB port or cigarette lighter and hide it in the glove compartment.

hey it even has a ANL and NB... the little CS-47 didn't have that.... so this is very cool

I like it! I have an Anytone Graces in my truck. It's a small unit with all the controls in the handset, but the handset is wired. I put it under the passenger seat and put the speaker/mic/control unit where I can reach it. It looks like this radio has taken that concept a step further.

Being off the tether of a cord, IMO, extends to either the microphone alone or to using a handheld.

Adding function to an already very good or outstanding radio (get out of the vehicle; go inside the store, etc) is a worthy use (and this is DECT, not Bluetooth).

And for those hot & heavy Net check-ins one doesn’t have to install his radio rig on a rolling tool cart to make it back to the throne room.

I have one of those Cobras. It's a little older without the Bluetooth. It works great. Well, I guess it works great. I haven't used it in years, not because of the radio but because CB is what it is. I'm sorry. I don't have a word to adequately describe what it is.

It’s a place to man up and not ignore the bad actors. They may continue, but it’s not them to whom you’re speaking if on AM-19.

An NRC radio with adequate power given best antenna system (mobile) cuts through quite a lot of them to the surprise of the many who’ll hear you.

No one not mobile belongs on AM-19. They can take it to one of the other 118-channels.

That gets across then the other channels as things go along.

I liken the reluctance and shrugs to those who wore the mask.

Hardwire. All else, no thank you.

There are folks out there hauling 15,000-lb trailers with wireless brake controllers.

False convenience.
