Anyone know which of these is used as the detective frequency in Coles county? I saw 156.09 listed as "CCSO detective channel" on a 1998 freq list (was long since removed from the internet) and 153.905 I was told by a local HAM is a car-to-car freq. I never heard anything on either of these except for repeater inputs. Just wondering if anyone knows which is used for simplex traffic in Coles county for the Sheriff's Department. I already know 154.77 is car-to-car and 154.65 is Jail, and 155.67 is the sheriff repeater.

153.905 is listed int he CARMA Profile as the input to the 155.670 repeater. I would imagine that detectives operate mostly on the 155.67 repeater and 154.77 C-C channel.

156.090 is now listed as the input to the 159.090 Fire repeater.

There used to be a channel used by many area counties for C-C and task force use. I think it was 156.000 or 156.150 but my memory fades...

Thanks, Rich. I am familiar with those being the repeater inputs here in Coles, I didnt know there was a common TF or car-to-car channel before. That's interesting. I know Douglas County is licsensed for low-power on 156.15, and 156.000 is DCI mobiles in some areas. Perhaps many areas still have 156.15 for investigation-type comms...

And BTW, TF is/was using 154.95 for car-car (uesd to hear often) but now I think have gone to Starcom 21, because I heard encryption on the Mattoon tower last wee, TG 13097. The statewide radio system should simplify finding frequencies like that for all of us!
