Colo Springs - Two men threaten firefighters

I listened to this on the FD and PD channels...

They were responding at 6:54pm on April 24th to a 21 year old male with shoulder pain in a 4-plex living unit at 4050 Ruskin Lane.

CSFD Engine 8 arrived at 6:58pm and requested PD code-3 for individual with a shotgun on CSFD Cmd-2. District 5 RC was on scene with Engine 8 and Truck 8 waiting at Ruskin Dr and Ruskin Way for PD.

Other CSFD units were already working a fire in the Stetson Hills area (5030 Fabray Lane) when this incident happenned. PD arrived 5 minutes later... it took them couple minutes to dispatch, but 4 or 5 PD units jumped on it and self assigned to the call.

What is this world coming to? Are FFs gonna have to start staging for medicals now?

Damian Garnett threatened the emergency crew with a simulated weapon (an AirSoft gun) that the firefighter thought was a real weapon (that makes it a felony). When police arrived they arrested him as well as Tristan Garnett for an outstanding warrant. Dumb and dumber.

This is nothing new, in the mid 80's when working in the Denver district's that handled OLFA's we all had flack jackets and many times you went in alone no Police or Fire. It is much safer then it used to be.
