Or is it just me. I just programmed my new 369XT and everything is coming in just fine except Colonie. I've changed nothing in my settings from my old 396T file and have D/L the file from RF and Freescan. Not that it makes a difference but I did see a NAC code while searching on 859.2625 that I didn't notice before and the control channel doesn't show encrypted. Thanks

Still okay on my 2096. Perhaps that radio (I assume you meant 396 not 369) doesn't like simulcast P25? Even with a yagi pointed at one of the sites (and away from the other), I still get some failures in decoding. The newer DSP firmware on the 2096 is worse than the older one. Thankfully they did that right...allowing you to swap between old and new anytime (and not being stuck with any upgrade).

They may have made changes to the system at some point, because this got worse over the winter.

I don't have a 396 so I can't help you there...other than suggesting a yagi pointed to Dennison Road or WRPI.

I have trouble with voice decode on the lowest two frequencies in the system. For some reason they are weaker than all of the others. This occurs on several different scanners (PRO-96, BCD996T, BCD396T, PSR-500, and PSR-600).

Also, the Massachusetts statewide police system (which is not P25) shares at least one frequency with Colonie in the western part of the state.

Yeah, I meant the new 396XT. Fat fingers early in the AM. Anyway, I played around some more this morning and found out that it is the freescan program causing the misfire. Once I entered Colonie's system in by hand, it worked just fine. Actually it sounds better on the western end of Guilderland than my old 396T did. Not sure why freescan won't upload it from Radio Ref correctly but as I have more time later I'll play with it and find out. I'm curious if its that way for all P25 systems. I'll drop a note to let him know. I heard there were some minor bugs but he puts it out for free and free is good right now seeing ARC isn't out with his yet. It loaded Albany, Troy and Conventionals just fine. I'm just glad I can pick up Colonie again
