I have logged a number of AAR channel frequencies since last night that are not in the db for CO. They are:

04 - 160.050 (7 hits)
31 - 160.575 (2 hits)
33 - 160.605 (12 hits)
37 - 160.665 (14 hits)
41 - 160.725 (2 hits)
43 - 160.755 (324 hits)
46 - 160.800 (1 hit)
48 - 160.830 (3 hits)
59 - 160.995 (4 hits)
76 - 161.250 (116 hits)
78 - 161.280 (22 hits)
79 - 161.295 (707 hits)
80 - 161.310 (271 hits)
96 - 161.550 (1 hit)

In addition, I believe I may have logged some narrowband channels as well:

??? - 160.2075 (6 hits)
153 - 160.9125 (1 hit)
166 - 161.1075 (1 hit)

And last but not least, an oddball that I'm assuming is not part of any AAR channel:

160.225 (8 hits)

Any help on what these might be would be appreciated so they can be added to the db.

43 - 160.755 (324 hits) UP Switching Channel North Yard Denver

46 - 160.800 (1 hit) No uses noted Colorado
48 - 160.830 (3 hits) No uses noted Colorado

76 - 161.250 (116 hits) BNSF Switching (Industrial Jobs Denver, Golden Yard, Denver Yard, Fort Collins Yard)

78 - 161.280 (22 hits) BNSF Yard Denver

79 - 161.295 (707 hits) BNSF Switching 31st, 32nd, and 38th Street Yard Denver

80 - 161.310 (271 hits) UP Car Dept (used North Yard Denver to inspect trains)

96 - 161.550 (1 hit) Manitou and Pikes Peak Railroad at Pikes Peak as well as Amtrak uses while in Denver Terminal

You are correct - it was actually logged as another narrowband 107 - 160.2225 (8 hits)

Still wondering about 160.775 since it's not an AAR frequency...

Also, from your post it appears we need to revisit the Colorado RR listings in the db.

A lot of the time, if there is a crew using a channel that is assigned for use in a particular yard/job such as 6666-161.100, and is very congested, they may choose to use another frequency to get away from the radio traffic.

That may explain the "No uses noted in Colorado" attached to the mystery frequencies.

We would do this on a fairly regular basis while we did local switching over the BNSF Creston Sub around Omaha, again to get away from the congestion, not to mention, having too much radio traffic can become a safety concern.

So railroad crews can just about go anywhere over the AAR channels provided they look in the timetable to determine which frequency to use and to insure they are not on another "foreign RR" frequency, PBX assigned channels, etc.

Thank you very much for the clarification. Is it possible that some of these "temporarily itinerant" AAR channels could get heavy usage even on a weekend?

Railroads can be busy anytime. So yes, those channels you are hearing traffic can become active about most anytime, even weekends.
