I've uploaded the arrest affidavit (on the MNN yahoo group page) for the mom in the murder of her 5 y/o son found after Hill Top Apartment mattress fire call on November 8th in Colorado Springs.
Bob and I were discussing this and wondering why they cancelled units and then called them back emergent.
Shortly after they called the units back to the scene emergent, I said, "Bob, that's strange. I wonder what else was going on in there besides a fire." I was thinking that it couldn't just have been a mattress fire.
Bob said, "... I think they... found these folks someplace where they didn't expect to find them."
The boy was found lifeless and wrapped in a blanket between a wall and the bed and the mom was found nude and wet inside a closed closet.
It looks like we both had it right.
That poor kid had told his aunt that he did not like to take baths at his mom's house because she liked to dunk his head underwater. Much more about that and the FD response and search for people inside are included in the arrest affidavit.
