I've noticed that the Columbia County S.O. has been using channel three (155.5875 mhz) quite frequently in the past few week and channel one (155.655 mhz) hasn't been used at all. It seems that all of channel one traffic has been switched to channel three. Can anyone expalin why the switch? Has channel one been re-allocated for another use or down for maintenance? Just curious...

Footy, I dont know the reason for the change but I've noticed it also. I don't know if you are aware that the county is getting what appears to be a motorola simulcast system in the near future. I asked about it in the trunking forum and it appears to be analog and I know for sure the fire department is gonna have the CAD and GPS systems in their trucks. It may be that maybe they are taking down the antennas for 155.655 and putting the 800's up?? I know channel 1 went quiet at about the same time the license went thru for the new freqs. Of course this could be just a coincidence. I just went back to the fcc database and noticed they have added another site. They appear to be using all of the towers in the county that they already have up. Here is the link if you want to take a peak.
