Does anyone know if the Columbia Fire Department Tac channels are encrypted? I can dispatch but I can't hear them when they go to Tac

I don't know, but the database here on RadioReference shows the Fire Dept. is using NXDN.

The system is very confusing. I don’t believe they are using encryption but that this is a trimmed system. I plan on one day going down and CC the tower site to really find out.

It's definitely a confusing system I can hear Columbia fire dispatch on nxdn ran1 and Columbia Police Department dispatch on nxdn ran1 but when the fire department goes to those Tac channels I can no longer hear them I've set the scanner up so it will do a digital code search for what ran that it might be with no luck

I bet they are on simplex when they go TAC or its E
