Does anyone know where Columbus Police are on the frequency spectrum. Sheriff is on the state trunked system, I see the officers with kenwood radios. Are they on with the sheriff?
They are on the state trunked system, you just gotta find their TGID. Any 700/800 radio can use state trunk systems, it just that kenwood it cheaper that MotorolaDoes anyone know where Columbus Police are on the frequency spectrum. You do have some fire departments out there who still use there analog systems, most of them use it for paging or patch system.I figured as much, but was more curious as they have 800mhz frequencies an addition to the uhf ones as well to the state system. The radios I saw had a uhf/800mhz style whip. But I have seen weird things in other places with police and fire being on ltr systems. But I saw fire talkgroups on the state system so that knocked that question out.
Yeah that was why. It was interesting to note that they requested 60 APX6000s, and only 6 APX1500s. I guess they will operate primarily with portables only.I'm not sure if the N series has been approved by the WCC yet? That would be why.
Not sure I follow. They were requesting radios not approved by MSWIN? If so, the way I read it is that they were denied (1) APX N70. They were approved to purchase the (60) APX6000s and (6) APX1500s.I read the minutes as well. They were wanting radios that weren't by MSWIN so they have to switch to something else..
