Is it possible Columbus could join MARCS? I know I have heard that "MARCS wasn't made for large cities to use"; well neither was MPSCS, the City of Detroit uses it for their primary comms system and it works fine for them!

No and currently MARCS isn't taking any new agencies anyway.

I don't believe that is true. Currently there are several agencies in Licking County that are in the process of moving to MARCS and there is some activity to place a new site in Newark to support the new users.

They must have been in the process and accepted before MARCS cut off new full-time agencies or they may not get in. I am going by a posting in another group by someone at MARCS.

But I can guarantee that Franklin County/Columbus will not be on MARCS. They may end up with mutual aid talkgroups on MARCS, but not for their day-to-day operations. The only way this could potentially change is when MARCS become a full P25 system, but that isn't happening anytime soon. And I doubt even then.
