Columbus Police CRT?

I've recently started to hear (and see) Columbus Police cruisers with a CRT prefix (ex. CRT-11). Does anyone know anything about this? I did a quick search on the forums and online, but couldn't find an explanation.

Thanks! Are they part of the neighborhood pride projects? We had one of those in my old neighborhood a few years ago where they put up speed trailers and increased patrols.

I can't find the link now, but if I remember correctly it was first initiated by Coleman two or three summers ago in response to a rise in violence. It was widely brought up again this past summer, when the city saw another huge spike in violence.

I believe their main duty is to patrol "hot spot" neighborhoods, where statistics show most violence is occuring.
