Trying to upload frequencies to my BC996XT,Kepps coming up with COM4 error?Any ideas,

Sounds like COM 4 on your PC does not exist.

Diagnose is reverse.

Have you programmed this radio with that computer before?

Was it COM4 you used last time?

Have you added any new hardware to computer since last successful connection?

To a lesser extent, added any new software?

in windows 7, go to control panel, then click system, then com ports, and see what com ports you have recognized. then adjust your software to one of the recognized com p[orts.
