But it was a police officer firing at a suspect. That's not an active shooter. An active shooter is a criminal who is firing at civilians and keeps firing. That's why the news article you provided doesn't contain the phrase active shooter. Not trying to be nit-picky. But active shooting gives people the impression that there are a number of innocent victims laying on the floor of a store or some other location, and that the incident might still be on-going.
