Need a little help doing off duty gig out at Christus Sata Rosa - New Braunfels I do a lot of listening in this area to prep crews on whats in coming. I thought I was doing good being I had all NBPD CCSO NBFD in my radio but got a violent patient in here last night from canyon lake and realized I didnt have their chan where do they tone out from and what radio chan do they use anyone know? If you can think of any other chan I might need please give the the heads up. I am kinda teaching these old timers out here and want them to be prepaired.

All Comal County Fire/EMS Units are Dispatched on Comal SO TX Fire 3 -- Fire Dispatch 154.2950 CT 203.5

154.2800 is just a Tac Channel not an Dispatch Channel and also for 154.4450 that is also just for Tac for Braken.

They (Comal County) may be getting ready to make some sort of system change. A bunch of SO mobile radios have been popping up on eBay as of late. Case in point.

i think maybe the radios on Ebay are old radios from old patrol cars ... i have seen new Comal SO cars out and about.

Comal County will be going to a digital conventional system (soon). Once davidbond sees this he'll comment (or to spite me he won't- either way I called it david).

Nope, just going to P25 Conventional, probably using the same frequencies they already have licensed. I talked last Friday to a CCSO Deputy, and he told me that everybody already has their new radios(looked like he had some kind of Moto XTS series, I'm just not familiar with Moto equipment) and all the equipment is installed, they just haven't "thrown the switch" for whatever reason(he didn't know why). If I get to see him this weekend again, I'll see if I can convince him to turn his radio over to the digital channels and transmit for me so I can pick it up on spectrum sweeper. He likely will, he was pretty impressed when I showed him my PSR-500, might as well show him what else it can do. ;-) I'll try to get into his car too and see what mobiles they're now using.

Comal SO

I have found on Comal SO CH-1 155.59500 using digital P25 NAC 300.

I'm at work right now found it while driving to New Braunfels this morning.
Anybody want to plug that in and confirm it for CH-2. 156.000 it may use the same NAC.

I've been monitoring for a while over the past few days (off and on) - I haven't heard a peep of P25. Do you know then the last time was they did use some P25? Was it testing or actual ops?

Comal County SO. Is still using analog for dispatch and most all units still use it. I just have heard some units using P25 to talk to SO. On my analog radio i hear the buzz so i switch on my P25 scanner and can hear him calling into SO. Using P25 with NAC 300. Coming off the repeater same frequency just in P25.
I have heard this on Comal SO Ch-1 and CH-2. on/off some early in the morning like around 7:00 AM and in the evening around 5:00 PM.

Its hit or mess, this is very rare ... its just a luck shot.

Comal County SO today 7-13-09 Monday made the change over on both channels Ch-1 and Ch-2 to P25 digital. I have been listening all day to the testing finally the dispatch came on and said for all units on Ch-1 and Ch-2 switch over Zone A digital until further notice.

P25 NAC code 300 same frequencies.

So as phoboss reported, Comal SO CH1 & Ch2 are both P25 now.

davidbond heard the dispatcher say they were in "Zone A Digital until further notice," this morning around 8:15am.

I bet the requisite changes have been submitted the database (though Ch2 still shows as analog).

Anyone wanna take bets on how long it takes to get our first "What the f happened to CCSO?" thread?

edit: Forgot to mention the quality. It sounds pretty good in my opinion, as good as Seguin's does, though I have to find a new sweet spot in my San Marcos house, the digital signal will drop on about every 5th transmission (or time for an exterior antenna).

I will submit it... for CH-2

The quality sounds good and fair for me on my mobile setup and home setup.
