Commercial vehicle enforcement

Does anybody know who the commercial vehicle enforcement (“DOT cops”) are dispatched by? Are they on their respective Troop’s dispatch or is that what the DMV Inspectors talkgroup is used for?

Never heard of DOT Cops. The DMV Inspectors work fairly independently, using the DMV TG only for messages or coordinating scale traffic and drivebys. They use the Troop TGs for calling wreckers and obviously calling for assistance or offering same.

Truckers like to call them DOT cops lol. They run the scales, do roadside inspections on semi’s, respond to wrecks involving commercial vehicles etc
