Communication Headset?

Hi Everyone,

My friends father owns a construction buisness, and currently they have HT1000's to use on the job site. He knows im a radio geek o ) and asked me to look into it for him. He is looking for a headset almost like the FD wears when on the engines, but for a portable radio. Also it must have PTT. Any suggestions on what to get ?

If he owns a construction company he must have a telephone. Why doesn't he call the place that sold him the radios and ask them? Why should he get a non-professional involved? This sounds like just one more of your questions on behalf of "somebody else".

Motorola makes (or should I say made) about 2 dozen solutions to your stated problem that fit the HT1000. Of course since they discontinued the HT1000 almost 2 years ago, it would be tough to say what any dealer still has in stock.

I don't know awhole lot on two way radio's that your talking about. But I know Racing Electronics has headsets that alot of the nascar teams use. I"m just throwing the idea out there for ya.

most construction ppl use a "secret service" style earpiece... looks a little less geeky, and you only have to use one earplug in ear protection areas!

Still sell them. The also work on the XTS type radios.

This is geeky but the headset is integrated into a hardhat so it's all one unit.
They don't work with talkabouts though.... </jab>
