Last night was our turn in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, my County, Bucks County had one of the worst storms in history. 99% of it is not even recorded in the media, I don't really depend on social media but do monitor our countywide simulcast radio and emergency nets, those living along the Delaware River and the Neshaminy Creek were devastated, radar indicated one huge Red Cell after another pounding the county with tornadoes touching down, roofs ripped off, countless Marine rescues from vehicles and homes, even fires that could not be reached due to high water, Delaware River was 22 feet above water line and the Neshaminy Creek was well over 35 feet above it's normal level, mass evacuations and urgent rescues, many many cars swept away in the flow some occupied including a woman that wrapped around a pole, rescue attempt resulted in Marine fire rescue boat getting tipped.
Three separate tornado touchdowns including one very close to me, it's very eerie to hear the sirens and that alert to seek immediate shelter in order to save your life. Just missed me. It was only a few weeks ago that we had a GMC car dealer and Trailer Park hit hard with a Wizard of Oz type tornado. Buildings totally destroyed. New cars tossed in the woods.
We won't know the true devastation for a while. I'm sure this happened along the entire path of this devastating storm.
Hats off to the First Responders risking their lives in the path of the storm.
