WS1065: Computer does not see scanner using widows 11

I may have missed something but my scanner is not being seen by my computer. Does anyone know of how/where the divers can be downloaded. Or is there something else I need to do. Any help will be appreciated. Using an HP computer with windows 11

I just got a refurb Lenovo L13 that came to me running Win11 - big headaches.

It originally shipped with 10, so when I upgraded the SSD, I then upgraded to Windows 10, and haven't had a problem since. Everything works fine (except some legacy stuff I haven't had the opportunity to replace, but that's what VMs are for. . .)

Check your support site and see if Win10 drivers are available - I'm willing to bet that they are. I'd do a rollback upgrade to Win10 - Win11 is a headache and a bugpack rolled into one (and I've had a permanent migraine since late 2006, I really don't need anything to make it worse.)

Windows development peaked at Win2k - they should have stopped there. Win7 was comparable, they've been going downhill since. Too many "creature features" clogging up the works, making it difficult to do what you wanted to do (that's what I liked about 2k - you could lift the hood, figure out what you did want and turn it on, what you didn't want and turn it off, close the hood, and get back to serious work. Took a little longer to set up that way, but you more than made up for it in productivity gains.

I did find divers that seem to be working OK, time will tell. Every time they "upgrade" for lack of a better word things seem to not work as well a lot of the time. Unfortunately, I am using a newer desktop with only win 11 but I did keep my older unit which has win 10 if needed.

Just in case someone else has this problem I was able to download drivers at ftdichip.com.

You can ask AI how to turn off the Win11 Nag on your Win10 PC so it doesn't pester you anymore - I don't have my notes handy, and it's different for different iterations of Win10 (Pro/Home/&c.)

I still using Win7 on my main PC. Everything since has been a clear step backwards though I have to use it on other PCs.

Check which COM port you are on. If you are using the USB to radio cable you will need the PSREdit software for your scanner. When you install the software you will need to tell it your COM port number (mine was COM4). I'm using an HP computer with a Whistler WS1065 scanner and needed the PSREdit500 software at Download PSREdit500. Hope this helps.

I'm using an HP computer with a Whistler WS1065 scanner and needed the PSREdit500 software at Download PSREdit500.

You can also use Butel ARC500 software. I use ARC500 Basic for my Radio Shack PRO-197, the older brother of the Whistler WS1065. The software works for both scanners. Under the Scanner tab, ARC500 includes a USB driver installer which will work with many cables.

I did not see anything in your post about the program being used to communicate with your scanner.
I use the Pro96com program and a Windows 11 PC along with the scanner's cable.
I also have had the same problem as you with my comport number 3 not working with the scanner, but I discovered the only fix that ever works for me.
I boot my PC and immediately push analyze on the scanner and select an active P25 control channel frequency.
When I do this the green RX light in the cable will flash once to establish communication with the PC so it "sees" the scanner. I then start the Pro96com program and open the tab to check for comport 3 and there it will be, so I click on rescan comport to confirm it.
I must go through this same process every day. If I fail to rescan the comport, communication will be lost a few hours after having started the program.
It's like the USB driver shows up for work but is too drunk to do the driving, DUI.
