Computer specs for Mot software

Folks,
I have a PIII 700Mhz old laptop laying around and may sell it. Someone mentioned to me that they may want it for the programming software for the HT1000. Is this computer "too" fast for that software? I know nothing about the software so I would like to know. I do not want to waste my time.

Most of the RSS (DOS based) runs best at the slowest speed possible - P120 is really pushing it. When it is mentioned DOS based, it means booted INTO DOS, not a DOS window. Yeah, it will work, but you are really asking for problems when it doesn't.

CPS loves to work on faster machines, especially with a lot of RAM. I use my 2.6 GHz machine without any problems.

Can the CPS software replace RSS in most cases?

Only on a few radios.

MTS2000, MCS2000, and a few others....but most, no.

I have a dell desktop pIII 700 mhz and it programs my radios just fine.-
DOS for Ht1000, spectra VHF,UHF
CPS for xts 3000 and cm300....

I use a 1.6Ghz pentium and it work fine programming spectras and MTS2000(when it used to be RSS). Never had a problem.

Not saying it can't be done, it's just that the software was written for slow DOS machines. Motherola may have some really nice radio's, but their software is in the dinosaur ages.
