• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

In addition to receiving traffic on the old licensed freq for CFD 154.31, I have heard traffic on a couple of their new freqs under license WPWL717 on 460.275 and 465.275.

Sometimes I receive the tone and dispatch on UHF 460.275, and then hear the fire units on 154.31. Have heard radio service a lot lately as well. Probably a cross-band repeater set-up with the ambulance service doing their dispatching.

I don't hear them simulcasting on the JeffCo digital system anymore.

Yeah AMR has managed to screw it up again....The base transmissions sound awful but the mobile units sound great on the UHF 462 band and top it all off I live almost under the station where the repeater tower is located...Progress??? lol
