I have looked at this http://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=2508
What do the colors mean? Is there a better copy of this with a legend? I heard them talk about C Deck 12 but I cant ever find C Deck 12??? I look on the chart and I see C Deck 12 and its yellow just like all the other C Deck channels that I do get! This just confuses me.
Thanks

According to the chart, C deck 12 is TAC 12. This chart has been here for a long time and all the TAC channels were initially encrypted so I'd say that the color may have something to do with that. Later on TAC 4 through TAC 9 were converted to clear so the rest including TAC 12 are probably still encrypted.

Is there an updated chart? Also is there anyplace that shows all Talk Groups including the Encrypted ones just for reference? Also last night I heard some things on H Deck CMN 4 and it wasn't encrypted. But nothing would come in on any other chan. Then I turned off my scanner and back on and then it picked up others but not H deck CMN 4 again. I notice that sometimes it doesn't pick up the chan until I turn it off and back on. Any reason for this?

Other than lists of talkgroups like what you see further down on that page, that's the only chart I've ever seen and it's been there a while. Most talkgroup lists are just the clear ones unless someone takes the time to really listen and follow radio ids as they switch talkgroups.

Sorry, not a clue on that.

I have never received a transmission on the Common 4 if that makes you feel any better. :) Did you program your scanner yourself?

My BCTool File

here is how my set up is, let me know what anyone thinks or if you have other ideas that would work. I have it layed and it seems to work good for me... I have never used it out of my house so I have never connected to any other simulcast.

The chart that is posted is current, and the reason you don't hear anything on C Deck 12 is because it is encrypted, and rarely used at that. You get the other C Deck channels (4-9) because they are not encrypted, and they are used very often.

Hey Chris, that was interesting to see how your is set up. I always get ideas when I look at others setups. I've been experimenting with a couple of different ones (azprwn and azprwn2) to see if there is a difference in how they are grouped. This is what I have...

Cool thanks! Nice set up! Yea I try to maximize the way I have it set up. I made it so I can turn to A deck channels and C deck channels easily. I need to adjust the way I have Maricopa county set up though I want to break down Scottsdale PD etc. I'm also trying to figure out the easiest way to change simulcast freqs when im in other parts of the city. If I leave all freqs on it seems to cause some issues and I dont get everything.
