Having problem getting my current scanner info to display when connecting from RR thru cable using Win500. Nothing appears on my desktop. Its been years since i modified settings and want to edit some frequencies. I'm missing a step i think.

Are you saying that the WIN500 program itself is not opening on your desktop?
Sounds like you need to update the driver for the cable you can find that here FTDI Drivers

If that is the case the updated driver won't help, I thought you meant the program wouldn't recognize the scanner
i have windows 10 not sure which driver to update with

If you have your user name and key from Starrsoft you may have to reinstall.

sorry for the confusion i'm seeing nothing when i plug in scanner. Windows knows the scanner is plugged in but that is all.

Nothing is going to happen until the software starts and runs that is step 1.

If you are expecting the software (WIN500) to start automatically when you connect the scanner... no, that isn't how it works. You need to manually start the software by double clicking the WIN500.exe file, or it's shortcut icon.

You might want to try downloading and re-installing WIN500 from the link below... do you still have the registration keys you purchased?

Win500 does not have a install package, you just unzip the files to a folder. You might just want to get a newer interface cable but I don't know if it is worth $28 since I am just guessing.
