All,

I recently bought a 325P2 and a 996P2. To program them, I imported my Uniden UASD 396T programming files into Freescan, tweaked them (by consolidating multi-site systems, etc) and then uploaded the files using Freescan into my two new scanners.

All is right with the world.

That was before Uniden offered DMR support on its flagship scanners and I now find myself thinking I need a 436HP.

Because of how I use the scanners, I'm very particular about how they are set up and what groups of systems are on what quick keys. I also have a "few" non-database items in the scanners that would be inappropriate for me to submit (sorry).

I know you an set up favorites in the scanner, but is there any way to easily converting my current Freescan files into some format or other programming software that would upload into a 436HP and give me (in effect) a clone of my 996P2/325P2s?

I do not care about having a nationwide database, nor updating via RR. I just don't want to have to re-do my programming from scratch.

TIA,

Tim

I don't think you can do this with FreeScan. If your files were written with ARC XT, the ARC 536 software has a tool that allows import of the ARC XT files. However, Service Types, since they are something new to the x36/HP scanners, have to be added.

Program everything under 1 Favorite List, then you can keep your Systems and Group Quicks the same, you'll only have to add a "." To the start of your current numbering system for quick keys. 100 Favorites can be used to have 100 Different Scanners but all you need is 1, so one Favorite List Will Do IT for you. Download Sentinel and try it out, name your 1 and only Favorite List "X96", start appending systems and/or groups and see how you like it.

The added bonus of doing everything by scratch is you can see what may have been updated.

Download arcxt demo, download data from your scanner into arcxt and then import the arcxt files into arc436.
